Financial Planning 101

I realized that one of the most common mistakes we do when it comes to our finances is we prioritize short-term or temporary goals over the long-term ones. We think of the “now” wants and needs rather than what would benefit us in the future. Having these goals are actually good but if we just focus on them, then think twice and assess yourself. You might just be setting yourself up for a great disaster.

As a Christian, I thought money is something we should get rid ourselves from because the love of money is the root of all evil. But then as I continue to read and dig deep in God’s word, I realize the bible has the best principles on how to handle our finances wisely. Because God has given us the ability to produce wealth, it is also a great responsibility to steward them properly for His purposes.

Take a look at this proverb I’ve been pondering on.

“Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭6:6-11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Thank God for ants! Consider their ways my brethren. Even though they have no financial advisor, they know full well how to save in summertime so that when storms come, they have food in their storage and they will never have to worry themselves about hunger. How about you? What are the necessary steps you are making today in order to prepare yourself for any fortuitous event? If you answer me, Yes I am already saving my money in the bank, that’s awesome! Yet I also encourage you to diversify, don’t just focus on putting your money in one vehicle. Be wise! Look for an investment wherein you and your family can benefit from.

Remember what I’ve mentioned earlier about short-term plans? Yes they’re good. Saving up for your dream car is good. Saving up for your future dream travel destination is exciting! Saving up for your future dream house is sooo fulfilling. Yet what if something happens along the way? And those savings are just enough to cover all those incurred sudden expenses. They now become part of your emergency fund because reality is even if we work double and triple just to save, they still will never be enough.

What if I tell you there is a way to still save up for your goals and protect them from being snatched away due to unexpected events, would you listen? I really hope and pray you would. I know and I understand completely that all of us are so caught up with our little to big expenses. But what if I tell you I can help you by letting you see the big picture that expenses will always be there. They will never go away. In fact, they will increase even more! But if you just allocate your earnings properly and set aside a portion of it on investment to protect yourself, your business or your family’s future, then you now see the importance of preparation for the future.

I tell you, it’s not just you who will gain from this but even your family and everyone else you hold dear will benefit because of your vision for the future. The whole point is not to make you anxiously prepare for the worst that could happen. It is to help you wisely prepare that even if something worst comes up, you have already set-up the best future you can give for you and your family.

I hope this resonated in your heart. And I hope you would see the beauty of such investment. It’s not yet too late my friend. The millenial you are the better. But if you are already nearing your retirement age and you have not yet saved up or invested anything, there’s still hope. Don’t make the same mistakes of how our culture wired us which is “save so we can spend right away”. Save now so you can enjoy the future. Invest now so you can prepare for the future.

I have so many more things to tell you and so please, please lend me your ears. Let’s meet and talk this over a cup of coffee? I am so much willing to invest my time for you. 😍❤️

I thank those who have said yes and have already set up a meeting with me. What I’ve shared is just a tip of the iceberg of what I am about to help you guys with. 😉 I am excited and pumped up to journey this with you from start to finish. 😍
